First off, what do you do?
I'm doing a lot of things right now, hahaha! I'm a student, swim teacher, writer, and the founder of the online platform and community SneakersbyWomen.
You live a life pretty much always moving. What does home mean for you?
Simply put, home is wherever my friends and family are. It's difficult to truly call a place "home" without the people you care about close.
When you're on the road there’s always so many temptations. Do you have any tips on how to focus when you need to get the boring stuff done?
I try to get the less interesting tasks out of the way first (well, most of the time), so that I can enjoy my travels without having to worry or stress about anything.
What do you always bring on your travels?
A book or two, or even three! I'm lucky in that I don't get travel sickness easily, so I like to get away from my screen and bury myself in a book when I'm on the road.
What would you tell yourself as a teenager?
Funny, I just turned 20 this year and I'm already feeling all of this "young adult pressure," so I'd say enjoy being young and don't worry about the small stuff; everything will work out the way it should in the end ;)
Which is your favourite destination?
France, specifically Brittany, is where my mother grew up and where the majority of my family still lives. Despite the fact that I've never lived in France, it feels like home to me, despite the fact that my French is embarrassingly limited.
What would you tell people who would like to follow your path?
To be honest, my path has been pretty messy and very far from a straight line. So, if you're like me, and made a complete u-turn in life, understand that it's perfectly fine to change your mind. If you decide you're no longer passionate about something and don't want to pursue it, look for something new or delve into something you already enjoy. It may feel scary to pivot at first, and it may be extremely difficult and confusing at times, but you will be grateful in the long run for following your heart.
Have you studied?
Actually, I'm still studying; I'm in my third year of Fashion Buying with Marketing (placement year).
What was your first job?
My first job was as a water assistant at my swim club's swim school when I was 13 years old. I enjoy assisting children in becoming comfortable in and swimming in water because it is such an important skill that everyone should learn. I now have a level 2 in teaching and continue to teach swimming part-time.
Which stuff brings creativity to you?
Everything and anything. Swimming, basketball, hiking, walking, and cycling have always been great ways for me to unwind and recharge my creative batteries! Going for walks is where all of my ideas come to me.
Do you have any packing tricks that you use while always on the move?
Simply do not pack items you know you will not use. It's self-explanatory, but the number of times I've packed a pair of shoes or a jacket that I "want to wear" but know I won't is ridiculous!
